Emerging Leaders

The Emerging Leaders program began in 2006 to engage young leaders with United Way and connect them to the community.  The mission of the Emerging Leaders is to connect a diverse group of individuals in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s to make an impact on the community.

Emerging Leaders Give, Advocate, and Volunteer 

  • Give — Donate to United Way.
  • Advocate — Champion the cause.
  • Volunteer — Lend some muscle.

Member Benefits

  • Invitations to exclusive semi-annual CEO Panel events. Past guests include CEOs of Harley-Davidson, Johnson Controls, Marcus Corporation, Manpower, Northwestern Mutual, Palermo Villa Inc., Metavante, the mayor, police chief and county executive
  • Invitation to the annual Emerging Leader Evening event at which the Philanthropic Five awards are presented to five young community leaders.
  • Invitations to additional educational and volunteer opportunities.
  • Recognition in the United Way Leadership Registry (optional) with an Emerging Leader mark.

Member Criteria

  • Yearly contribution at a Leadership Level of $1200 or above
  • Must be in the target age range (20s, 30s or 40s)
  • Voluntarily opt-in to the program
