Philanthropic 5 Awards

Each year, United Way of Greater Milwaukee Emerging Leaders honor five community leaders for their commitment to the Milwaukee area through their Philanthropic Five awards.

The awards, created by United Way’s Emerging Leaders Council, recognize five community leaders in their 20s, 30s and 40s who give, advocate and volunteer for change throughout Greater Milwaukee’s nonprofit community.

Philanthropic 5 (P5) Award Winners receive:

  • $500 to invest in the cause of their choice.*
  • Public recognition in The Business Journal for award recipients and their companies.
  • An awards event held in their honor.

Amy Linder has been an integral part of the growth and diversification of Meta House, a nationally recognized program treating women in recovery for drug and alcohol addiction and providing comprehensive services for their children. A lawyer by trade, she also channels her professional abilities into meaningful volunteer service at the Marquette Legal Clinic.

Rayna Andrews is committed to empowering girls and women and works with victims of human trafficking and the chronically homeless. She serves on the American Association of University Women-Milwaukee board as Public Policy Chair and has a Mayoral appointment to the Milwaukee County Human Trafficking Task Force.

Deborah Lukovich is a passionate entrepreneur, author and community leader. Through her company, alinea llc, she helps nonprofits and schools attract more resources. She has also impacted many organizations as a volunteer, including Milwaukee Renaissance Academy, The Park People, Inc. and Friends of Bradford Beach. 

George K. Williams is an educator, mentor, basketball coach and father figure for many at-risk teens. He also leads his company’s diversity and inclusion council, and is a member of Black Achievers for Harley-Davidson. He shares his time and talent with many organizations including the Next Door Foundation and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee.

Valerie Vidal is a champion for Centro Legal, which provides legal education and representation for low-income clients, serving on the board and co-chairing major fundraising events. She is also an active volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee Inc. and has been matched with her “little sister” for more than four years.
