United Way of Greater Milwaukee

We are committed to improving lives in our community. We provide for people's basic needs, we strengthen families, children and youth, and help individuals become self-sufficient. We also focus on the root causes of our community's most critical problems to break the cycle of poverty - the key to sustainable change.

We are made up of donors, volunteers, program partners, and people just like you. We listen to our community's concerns, focus on where funds are needed most and ensure results through standards and review. Our communitywide campaign raises funds to support 157 local health and human service programs for over 410,000 people Greater Milwaukee.

United Way of Greater Milwaukee partners with over 73,000 donors, 2,400 volunteers and 74 member agencies and seven additional program partners.

Our Leadership

sullivanTimothy W. Sullivan - Chair, Board of Directors

Tim Sullivan has served as president and chief executive officer of Bucyrus International, Inc. since March 2004. Sullivan has been with the company since 1986, holding various progressive positions, including executive vice president of Marketing, vice president of Marketing and Sales, director of Business Development, product manager of Electric Mining Shovels and International Sales and most recently president and chief operating officer. Since Sullivan has been at the helm, Bucyrus has seen exceptional growth with increased sales of $283 million, expansion of operations to include a new 325,000 square foot facility in South Milwaukee, and recent acquisition of the DBT of RAG Coal International, which nearly doubles the size of the company.

In addition to serving on United Way’s board of directors since 2002 and co-chairing United Way of Greater Milwaukee's successful 2007 campaign, he also currently sits on the Board of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, Milwaukee County Private Industry Council, Children’s Hospital and Health System, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Milwaukee, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, and St. Ann’s Center for Intergenerational Care.


dragisicSue Dragisic - President, United Way of Greater Milwaukee

Sue Dragisic, president of United Way of Greater Milwaukee, has had a long and distinguished career as a fundraising professional in Greater Milwaukee. Dragisic joined United Way in 1999 after serving as president of the United Performing Arts Fund, a position she held since 1984.

Sue received her bachelor's degree in Communicative Disorders and her master's degree in Audiology from Northwestern University. She is a member of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, member of the Marquette University Women's Council, and serves on numerous boards including Aurora Behavioral Health Services, the Cardiovascular Research Board at the Medical College of Wisconsin, The Management Association, Inc. (MRA), St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, St. Ann's Center for Intergenerational Care, and United Way of Wisconsin.
