How a Match Works The generous support of challenge grant sponsors multiplies the impact of your
investment in United Way by matching your contribution (up to a specified amount) and are available to match all or part of almost any United Way gift.
Campaign Leadership
Our annual Community Campaign is lead by our dedicated volunteer co-chairs and cabinet who meet throughout the year to guide and manage our yearly campaign.
Challenge Matches
The generous support of challenge grant sponsors multiplies the impact of your
investment by matching your contribution up to a specified amount.
Sponsorships
We depend on our generous corporate sponsors for direct donations, challenge grants, event sponsorships and in-kind gifts to offset costs, allowing us to provide additional resources to the community.
Impact Card
The Impact Card is provided to donors who give $150 or more in a single year. The card provides valuable discounts on dining, entertainment and services.

Days of Caring
Days of Caring is two weeks of volunteer projects that take place throughout Greater Milwaukee. Local nonprofit organizations request help, and United Way mobilizes teams of volunteers from our partner companies to pitch in.
Women's Initiative
The Women's Initiative was founded in 2002 to mobilize a powerful leadership network of women to strengthen our community through a focused investment of talent, compassion and philanthropy.
Emerging Leaders
The Emerging Leader program strives to develop a relationship with a diverse group of individuals under the age of 45 to broaden United Way's base of support.
Loaned Executives
Each year, businesses dedicated to making a difference in our community select valued employees to serve as full-time loaned executives (LEs) who serve as the foundation of United Way’s annual workplace campaign. Others may also become Loaned Executives.

If you are . . .
a new leadership giver ($1,200 - $9,999) and your gift is $1,200, it is matched by the Leadership Challenge grant and your total actual gift to the community is $2,400.
a current donor and you increase your gift, the Double Your Difference Challenge grant will match the amount of your net increase. So if you increased your gift by $100 from last year, a match of $100 is provided, in essence doubling your increase to $200.

Matches new and increased gifts below the $1,200 level.
Ralph Evinrude Foundation Leadership Challenge - $50,000
Matches new and increased leadership level gifts ($1,200 - $9,999).
Mellowes Community Impact Challenge - $125,000
Matches all new or increased contributions from Tocqueville Society members to the Community Impact Fund, including Safety Net Services and Breaking the Cycle of Poverty areas.
Special Incentives
Fleck Foundation Education Challenge - $200,000
Matches new and increased contributions to the Early Childhood Education initiative.
Asset Building Challenge - $1,000,000
All gifts are matched dollar for dollar by both the United Way and a federal grant to assist participants in saving to obtain postsecondary education or home ownership.
Aurora Health Care Healthy Girls Challenge - $25,000
Matches new and increased contributions to the initiative.
Bucyrus International Job Training Challenge - $30,000
Matches new and increased contributions to the Job Training initiative.
Northwestern Mutual Breaking the Cycle of Poverty - $100,000

Matches all new and increased corporate gifts from female- and minority-led businesses three to one, up to $5,000 per company.
