The Gwen T. Jackson Community Service Awardwas established in 1981 and is presented annually to the United Way volunteer who best exemplifies a spirit of volunteerism and dedication to one’s community and fellow man.

The generous support of challenge grant sponsors multiplies the impact of your
investment by matching your contribution up to a specified amount.
Sponsorships
We depend on our generous corporate sponsors for direct donations, challenge grants, event sponsorships and in-kind gifts to offset costs, allowing us to provide additional resources to the community.
Impact Card
The Impact Card is provided to donors who give $150 or more in a single year. The card provides valuable discounts on dining, entertainment and services.

Days of Caring
Days of Caring is two weeks of volunteer projects that take place throughout Greater Milwaukee. Local nonprofit organizations request help, and United Way mobilizes teams of volunteers from our partner companies to pitch in.
Women's Initiative
The Women's Initiative was founded in 2002 to mobilize a powerful leadership network of women to strengthen our community through a focused investment of talent, compassion and philanthropy.
Emerging Leaders
The Emerging Leader program strives to develop a relationship with a diverse group of individuals under the age of 45 to broaden United Way's base of support.

Bill Grow served as a member of United Way of Greater Milwaukee’s Strong Families Advisory Committee for nearly 11 years. He began his tenure in 1997, serving as part of the team that helped to restructure and direct the Strong Families Impact Area in areas such as child day care and development of the Community Information Line, which grew into 2-1-1@ IMPACT, the non-emergency information and referral program we all know today. Bill stepped up to serve as Chair of the Strong Families Committee in May 2002. Under Bill’s leadership, the committee addressed difficult decisions at every level, from program funding to board-level agency relations. Bill is an invaluable resource to United Way of Greater Milwaukee and our community.
The Billy and Ethel Heller Award is presented annually to the individual, family or foundation which best epitomizes outstanding service to the community and leadership in financial support of United Way of Greater Milwaukee.
Curt Culver served as the Chair of the United Way Board from 2005- 2007. He continues to serve on the United Way Board of Directors as a trusted
advisor and also sits on the boards of many local organizations with whom United Way partners, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Milwaukee, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, Children’s Hospital and Health System and Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital. Curt’s commitment to the quality of life and business viability of the community is further demonstrated by his participation on the boards of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Milwaukee Committee. Curt co-chaired the 2003 Community Campaign with Les Muma and Sue Ela, raising a then record of $35,050,294. In 2007, he again secured significant contributions and support for the Community Campaign. Curt is committed to Greater Milwaukee and as a result, we all benefit from his strong and generous heart.
The John A. Puelicher Award for loaned executive excellence was instituted in 2005. John (“Jack”) Puelicher led Marshall & Ilsley Corporation to tremendous success during his tenure and was a strong champion of United Way of Greater Milwaukee. He was the 1963 United Way Community Campaign Chair, member of the Board of Directors from 1955 to 1963 and a long-time generous supporter.
Eliana Huidobro Medical Filing Assistant, Aurora Medical Group
Eliana Huidobro exhibited true dedication and passion to improving the lives of people in the community in which she lives. Eliana’s drive over the past four years as a Loaned Executive produced results with some of United Way’s most unique and challenging workplace campaigns. Her dedication often meant working during second and third shifts and her bilingual abilities grew Latino participation. It is with great honor that United Way presents Eliana Huidobro with the John A. Puelicher Award for Loaned Executive excellence.
